You put your feelings downI have read and heard probably hundreds of times that God has feelings. In the Old Testament, we hear about how He is jealous, angry, vengeful. At other points, we hear that He is loving, kind, compassionate. And it makes sense that God would have feelings, because if He didn't, then we couldn't.
But at the same time, sometimes that just doesn't make sense to me. I understand that sometimes we can choose to feel a certain feeling- I can choose to be happy, or angry, or sad. But there are other times, where I just don't feel like I am in control of that at all. I am just feeling whatever it is I'm feeling, regardless of how I'd like it to be. And I just can't imagine God not being in control of His feelings, but it seems totally against what feelings are to always be in control of them.
I guess I just still have a lot to learn about feelings.
