Tonight I went to Christmas Eve Mass with my family. Personally, I enjoyed the mass, but one of my sisters thought the music was too "rock band" and didn't like the mass. She made this very well known afterwards.
While I can understand we all have preferences, it made me sad that my family seems to have lost what is at the "heart of worship." The music shouldn't be the focus, the priest shouldn't be the focus. The focus should be on Jesus.
Luckily for me, I have the chance to attend midnight mass tonight. I'm hoping that I can remember that Jesus is the heart of this worship.
