Megan's prayer: Casting Crowns' "American Dream"

My dad works way too much. Because his office is at home, he is always so close to the paperwork and the emails that he gets sucked in until late at night. I know that he doesn't get very much sleep, and works quite a few hours on the weekends.

I know that my dad works this much in order to provide for our family. Just like the song, my dad is working so that his family can live out this "dream" he had for us.

The good thing is that my dad has figured out what really matters in life. While he does work a lot during the week, he always makes time to go to my brother's basketball games, or to eat dinner with the family, or to watch "The Sing Off." I've even noticed the extra time he puts into being a good husband. He will meet my mom for lunch while she is at work occasionally, and this past weekend they even went Christmas shopping together.

My prayer tonight is very much a prayer of thanksgiving. I am so blessed to have my dad, and that he has figured out what is really important in life.
