I love this song, but I have a big problem with the above lyric. It is so NOT true. God is not this genie that will magically make your life perfect when you decide to start following Him. (a lesson I'm very slowly learning) I mean, even Jesus admitted that following Him wouldn't be all that great while down here on earth.
Thinking about it though, as much as I sometimes think the opposite, I really do believe that God's got it right by not making our lives perfect. I mean, following Him would be so much easier if it made my life perfect. But with the way it is now, it'll make Heaven so much more worth it because I worked to get there. So as much as I hate the imperfect parts of my life right now, I'm glad I've got an amazing God who knows that "imperfect" is exactly what I need right now.
