Chris' prayer: Twila Paris' "Run to You"

I love listening to stories about Simon Peter. I think he is my favorite Apostle because I can relate to him the easiest. Time after time after time, Peter messes up. From denying Jesus the three times, to pulling out his sword and cutting off the ear of one of the soldiers, there are many times where Peter can't seem to live up to his calling.

There is one particular time where Peter does come through. Jesus is teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum, instructing the crowd that He is the true food, the true drink and whoever eats of His flesh, Jesus will live inside Him. Many of his disciples and others listening in didn't understand what Jesus was talking about and got up and left. Jesus turns to the Apostles and asks, "Do you also want to leave?"

Without missing a beat, Peter replies, "Master, to whom shall we go? You alone have the words of everlasting life."

Peter might mess up a lot. He might falter in His steps, but ultimately he knows the right answer to the ultimate question: Who are you going to turn to? Who are you going to count on? Where do you place your trust? Peter answers:
Ooh, I run to You
Ooh, what else would I do?
