A friend and I have a little game we play each Sunday. The game doesn't even have a name, and hardly anyone else even knows about it. In fact, we only know the game is on when the other person says, "I'm going to win." No more explanation is needed. Both of us know what that means and what we have to do to respond.
Today's song reminds me of that game that I play each Sunday that I so love. Franklin directs the choir one section at a time- first the sopranos, then the altos, then the tenors- each of them singing "I love you" with all they have. It's like they are in competition with the other sections for who can sing the loudest, who can show God, through their voices, who loves Him the most.
The challenge is there, not just vocally, for both the sections in Franklin's choir and for my friend and me, but in our lives. Each feeds off the other, trying to dedicate more and more of their voices and their lives to Jesus. Tonight, I am thankful for that friend and for the way she pushes me in my faith.
