You are still My childMy child
I think I have a new favorite song. From the lyrics to the melody, everything thing about it. I just love it. I really listened to nothing but this song today. Already up to a play count of 66! The only problem is, there's so many things that stood out to me in this song, I couldn't pick just one! I'm still not sure if the part I'm blogging about is really the part I want to blog about. (: But I'm gonna do it anyway... (: So here goes!
I went to a Theology of the Body for Teens training seminar this past Saturday. It was amazing! I learned so much, not only about TOB, but how to teach it. I left that seminar wanting to read the leaders guide from front to back. And it's a pretty thick book! When I got home, though, things like dinner and exhaustion from thinking all day caught up to me, and I haven't had the chance to get back to it yet. One of the things Brian (our speaker) said that stuck out to me and I've thought about many times since Saturday was that everyone's number 1 vocation is to be God's child. Before you are a woman or man, you are first God's. Before you are a priest, religious, married or single, you are a child of God. It is so much a part of you and you can't change that. I mean, how cool is that? When God looks down on me, the first thing He sees isn't a woman, isn't a single person, isn't a youth minister, isn't "that big sinner," BUT IS "My beloved child, with whom I am well pleased."
